Story
Elixir Jewelry

Elixir – anything that brings joy, renewal, or a sense of magic. Each handcrafted piece of jewelry is rooted in honest craftsmanship and carries the promise of filling the heart with love.

About me

My name is Rudolf Molnar.

I am a goldsmith and enameller with a long-standing passion for creating handmade jewellery. My work brings together traditional goldsmithing techniques, precise craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for materials, detail and lasting quality.

I serve on the council of the Guild of Goldsmiths of Slovakia and am a member of the British Society of Enamellers. I am also a registered Fairmined and Fairtrade goldsmith, reflecting my commitment to responsible sourcing and a more ethical approach to jewellery making.

My work has been exhibited both in Slovakia and internationally.

Alongside my own practice, I work as a professional guarantor for the Metal and Jewellery Studio at the Creative Centre in Nitra, where I contribute to the development of jewellery education and hands-on metalworking.

One of the defining features of my work is the use of genuine vitreous enamel. This traditional technique demands patience, experience and precision, but it offers extraordinary possibilities for colour, depth and expression. It allows me to create distinctive pieces that bring together fine craftsmanship, individuality and artistic character.

The Studio

In the historic heart of Pezinok, a former mining town at the foot of the Little Carpathians, you will find my jewellery studio. This is where I create distinctive, handcrafted jewellery, tailored to each customer's wishes and made with the care and precision of a master goldsmith.

I combine traditional goldsmithing techniques with modern technology and equipment. Every detail, every finish and every surface is carefully crafted in my own studio, where I oversee each stage of the process. The quality of the materials, the time devoted to each piece and the craftsmanship behind it all contribute to the character and lasting quality of my jewellery.

To give every customer my full attention, studio visits are by appointment only. This allows us to discuss your ideas, explore possibilities and focus on your jewellery in a relaxed and private setting, without interruptions from other customers.

I look forward to welcoming you to my studio in Pezinok.

A Creative Collaboration

Trish White, a New York-based artist and founder of the international platform Grains of Glass, and I share a common belief: enamel is far more than decoration. It is a lasting and expressive art form in its own right.

Although our backgrounds are different, our shared passion for enamel brings our work together. My roots are in goldsmithing and jewellery making, while Trish comes from the world of fine art and independent artistic expression. In our collaboration, technical precision meets creative freedom, opening up new ways of exploring the possibilities of enamel.

Our collaboration culminated in a joint exhibition in Prague, where jewellery and art objects brought together different perspectives, cultures and traditions. It was more than a display of finished pieces; it was an opportunity to share ideas and explore how enamel can be used as an artistic medium today.

Working together has strengthened our belief that genuine craftsmanship and an individual artistic vision can cross borders and bring people together. It continues to inspire us, built on mutual respect, shared curiosity and an ongoing creative dialogue that extends beyond a single exhibition.

Guild of Goldsmiths and Jewelers of Slovakia

I serve on the council of the Guild of Goldsmiths and Jewellers of Slovakia, a professional association bringing together practising goldsmiths and jewellers who create their own work rather than trade in jewellery.

Guild membership represents professional experience, craftsmanship and a commitment to high standards. As a member, I have taken part in several guild exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad, presenting my own work and traditional goldsmithing techniques.

The trust and respect of fellow craftspeople mean a great deal to me. In a profession built on skill, integrity and reputation, the respect of your peers is something you earn through your work.

For me, guild membership is both an honour and a responsibility — to my fellow goldsmiths, to my customers and to the traditions of our craft.

Technical Museum in Brno

I have a long-standing professional relationship with the Technical Museum in Brno, particularly its metal conservation and restoration department. I regularly take part in professional seminars and symposia dedicated to historical metalworking and jewellery-making techniques.

Working alongside conservators gives me the opportunity to study historical jewellery and metal artefacts from different periods, as well as the techniques used to create them. My work includes restoration, reconstruction and the investigation of traditional craftsmanship.

Many of these techniques are now rarely practised and are in danger of being lost. Preserving this knowledge is an important part of my work, helping to keep traditional goldsmithing skills alive and deepen my understanding of the materials and methods that have shaped the craft.
